Dutch Passion Blueberry – one of the most profitable cannabis strains

It is a blue family strain. The name BLUEBERRY was chosen because of the blue hue of the flowers and leaves, combined with an incredible aroma that is surprisingly close to the smell and taste of real blueberries.

BLUEBERRY appeared on the Dutch market in 1998 with Blue Velvet, Blue Moonshine, Flo and Blue Heaven – other members of the Blue Family. All of them were originally bred by DJ Short and adopted by Dutch Passion in collaboration with a Canadian breeder.

Although the strain is mostly indica dominant, the right amount of sativa genes produces a highly unique effect. Instead of being overwhelming, as you might expect with an indica-dominant strain, it’s bright and euphoric. It gives the user a long-lasting effect known to be very pleasant and uplifting.

BLUEBERRY is a highly resinous predominantly indica strain (approx. 80% indica, 20% sativa) consisting primarily of Afghani indica. The sativa genetics come from Thai sativa and to a lesser extent Oaxacan (Mexican) sativa. This unique three-way cross is the genetic basis of this strain and many of its descendants.

Most plants have a compact growth pattern with sturdy stems and very large, broad leaves. The nodes can be quite close together and have several beautifully colored leaves and flowers.

It has achieved legendary status with a huge following. In recent years BLUEBERRY has been used to breed many new and popular varieties, e.g. Blue Dream, Mazar x Blueberry (Skywalker), Mazar x Blueberry OG (Skywalker OG), Blueberry Headband, Blueberry Diesel and Blue Cookies.

HARVEST

It is ready for harvest after 8-9 weeks. Outdoors, it can reach maximum heights of 2.5-3m and is harvested around early/mid autumn.

The genetics used to create it provide the following characteristics:

• A strong and hardy plant that yields very well both indoors and outdoors when grown under optimal conditions.
• Short internodal spacing with dense flower clusters and good leaf ratio.
• An amazing smoke experience, one of the most intense fruity flavors on the planet.

EFFECTS

BLUEBERRY is a very special indica, although about 80% indica-dominant, not too heavy. It has a strong effect and just the right amount of sativa genes to make the effect clear and euphoric. It has a perfectly balanced effect level, which makes it useful for use in the morning and during the day. It will give users an extremely pleasant effect on the body and put a big smile on their face. If the THC level reaches 20%, it’s a really strong strain.

FLOWERING

We usually recommend a VEG stage of around 4-6 weeks. When you only have a few plants per square meter, we recommend using about 6 weeks. Although it is mostly indica dominant, it can still extend the flowering time. This is due to the presence of Sativa genetics used in its breeding.

Outdoors, BLUEBERRY has the potential to reach considerable size under optimal conditions. Ideally, the weather should be mild/temperate with plenty of sun and wind to reduce the possibility of bud damage from mold and fungus. When grown under favorable conditions, it has high yield potential. Some growers have achieved yields of more than 2 kg per plant.

It can have large leaves that act like huge solar panels, converting light into energy. The strong stems and shorter internodal spacing make it an excellent candidate for the SOG type growing style. Flowering time is about 8-9 weeks. With the recommended growing phase, it takes about 12-15 weeks from seed to harvest.
