If the reflector is heavily stained replace it, as damaged surfaces significantly reduce efficiency.

Grow Box Size – If you’re growing in a small area, choose a reflector that focuses light more directly onto your plants.

Type of Grow Light – LED grow lights often don’t need additional reflectors, but HPS or MH lights benefit greatly from them.

Heat Control – If your grow space heats up easily use an open-type reflector or one with a built-in cooling system.
