Black Lebanon Seed
The secret history of Black Lebanon, a unique and beautiful cultivar from the heart of the Lebanese Bekaa Valley, began hundreds, possibly thousands, of years ago. Throughout history, scholars, travelers, and artists celebrated the quality, beauty, and spiritual properties of Lebanese cannabis and its products. Black Lebanon is an impressive pure landrace hashish cultivar that originated in the Levant area of the Middle East. Black Lebanon grows rapidly and vigorously, increasing in height, on average, by 30% during the first two to three weeks of its vegetative period. It develops into a large, tree-like plant, which is formed by numerous branches and internodes, making it perfect for indoor multi-top or outdoor greenhouse and garden locations. It has a typical Christmas tree shape that can grow to a height of 2–4 m.
The father of Black Lebanon is a pure Lebanese landrace called Lebanon #1 that comes from a different Lebanese area than Lebanon #5. When Lebanon #1 was pollinated with the already inbred two- to three-generations-old male that would become Lebanon #5, 150 first-class males were the result of the alliance. The later male was, again, inbred for six more years when it came to fruition on the genetic level.
Effects and Flavor
Effects: This strain is known for its intense effects of blissful consciousness, which is why most users prefer using it in kief form during the nighttime. This makes the user more focused and concentrated during the hours leading up to sleep. The high leaves the user sedated in a unique way, but still able to keep their sense of sharp thinking and rational use of their senses. The user feels exceptionally stimulated both mentally and physically, with a very profound sense of ease, which makes the mind calm and forgets all the wrongs done to it and leaves an extraordinary impression of memories at the time.
Because it provides a great deal of happy and alert energy, most people consume Black Lebanese during the day. It is perfect for alleviating the worst effects of depression and anxiety. Those suffering from mood disorders such as depression, PTSD, stress, or anxiety will find it beneficial. The intense full-body buzz makes it a good option for treating moderate to severe pain. Some have found relief from migraines and even more serious conditions and illnesses.
Flavor: Being pure blackland, which is a landrace African strain, Black Lebanon gives off a very pleasant, indigenous smell and flavor with a clear, stiffened, sweet-pungent smoking sensation. Due to the berry undertones produced, its profile gives it a unique flavor that only Black Lebanese strains exhibit. Due to the strain’s skunk and hash overtones that mix with mint, pine, and chocolate undertones, some discreet flavors leave an impression that can be remembered into the next joints or hits. The sweet mint flavor blends well with the sweet, soapy hash smell that remains long after smoking.
Growing Black Lebanon
It likes moderate to high nitrogen, especially in vegetative states. We suggest keeping nitrogen at mid-levels, transitioning to low during flowering, unless you have identified heavy nitrogen deficiency; then feed it moderately until recovered. Support the buds when they grow large and become heavy. To proceed further on how it’s grown, you should modify these steps in accordance with your setup and conditions.
The SOG method is popular with fast-flowering strains, of which Black Lebanon is one. It capitalizes on the classic photoperiod that divides cannabis into a vegetative state with 18 hours of light and a blooming period with 12 hours of darkness. By reducing the vegetative phase, where usually a sizeable plant is grown, this approach ensures that most indoor growers can get a plentiful harvest several times a year due to shorter flowering times. It also allows for more efficient use of the grow space, and since it’s more uniform, maintenance is simpler. When buds form, keep them under control – this is important to ensure air circulation and light penetration all the way to each of the microbial-rich buds, with vital energy for growth.
Screen of Green (SCROG) method is when the grower uses a screen to prevent vertical growth of the plant. When using the SCROG method, the grower sets up a screen at a particular height, and the plant is trained to grow on the screen. This encourages the plant to grow laterally instead of focusing on growing tall. Because of this method, the plant grows laterally and fills up space, thus increasing its surface area for light absorption and ultimately increasing the yield of the harvest.
