CULTILITE – CMH BULB 315W – 3000°K spectrum is a top lighting solution designed to optimize plant growth. It combines advanced Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH) technology with efficient LED systems to offer a lighting. CMH technology ensures that plants receive UV and infrared light, crucial for robust growth, resin production, and improved yields. At 315W, the Cultilite CMH LED delivers excellent output while consuming less electricity than traditional High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) or Metal Halide (MH) lights. The Cultilite CMH LED delivers intense, evenly distributed light that penetrates the plant canopy. This ensures lower leaves and hidden buds receive adequate light, leading to fuller, more uniform growth.

CMH technology became popular in grow lighting during the last couple of years. This technology highlights a “full spectrum white” light and high efficiency in UMA and PAR.  Ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamps are described as a hybrid type of lighting that combines some of the benefits of traditional metal halide and high-pressure sodium lamps, such as higher efficacy and better color rendering, with the efficiency, light levels, and spectrum similar to a high-intensity discharge lamp. The higher efficiency/lower powered lamp platform is designed around a unique, modified version of a ceramic arc tube, similar to those that were introduced and used in square-wave high-pressure sodium systems. A variable mix of sodium and metal halide compounds has been used to tailor the specific spectral output of the system. Additionally, a more specialized, customized electronic ballast is required to ignite the arc and maintain the specific operating properties of this new-type ceramic lamp.

CULTILITE – CMH BULB 315W – 3000°K is capable of producing a luminous flux similar to a bulb 600 W, using only half the electricity. The high arc voltage of their discharge tube allows the lamp to operate at 315 W without problems. The mixture of metal halides inside the bulb enables the fixture to achieve a considerable color rendering index. On the other hand, the heat transferred to the fixture is lower compared to the bulbs. In this way, you can reduce electricity consumption in lighting like a bulb by 600 watts and the internal grow room temperature by about 15 or 20% (the watt absorbed is proportional to the heat emitted by the fixtures). These double benefits are possible because the operating efficiency, together with the low discharge lamp voltage, reduces power consumption and heat emitted into the grow room.

The CMH Bulb 315W has state-of-the-art, patented solid electronic technology providing a longer life than traditional lamps. A typical lamp is designed to work in a rated current of 4.6A and develop the maximum luminous efficiency. A current value above or below the rated will lead to a substantial decrease in power in Watt and a sensible increase in the current consumed in order to form heating plants and gases that contribute to the red light spectrum typical according to the black body effect.

The photosynthetic light used in this lamp is exclusive 320,000 nanometers, different from the spectacular lamps that emit, among others, red, blue, and green light. What is intended to be achieved with this lamp is that the plant develops all its phases correctly and to avoid the use of other red or blue extra lights. This lamp model has 315W of power and offers, thanks to its electronic ballast, greater efficiency than the MH 400W lamps. CULTILITE – CMH BULB 315W – 3000°K can be up to 97.50 lumens per watt compared to 65 lumens per watt of an MH 400W lamp, which will contribute to greater plant performance with 30% less energy use. The lamp mount does not heat up much while operating, a benefit when it is necessary to remove it for maintenance or change the bulb. It has a fast start and a long duration.

Key Features of CMH Lamps

As a construction material of CMH lamps, polycrystalline aluminum oxide is used, with a melting temperature above 2000°C. The ceramic lamp chamber gives free passage to the radiation from the discrete part and the continuous part of the UV spectrum and also enables the manufacturing of special internal coatings with reflectance of up to 90% of the radiations in the visible range of the spectrum with high efficiency stabilization of the power. The xenon noble gas has to be additionally filled into the arc tube as a starter gas.

CMH lamps can be designed to provide continuous radiation with a color temperature range of 2700–3300 K, 380–5000 K, and 5000–20000 K, or in rare cases with two cool line radiators, in each case balanced with near UV radiations. Ranges of continuous light spectrum can also be complemented with a set of defined wavelengths, particularly with the near UV or the discrete lines with wavelengths of 365 nm, 385 nm, and 405 nm. Due to the mix of radiations and good color rendering property, improved lumen output per unit of electrical power, and a longer life, a single lamp characterized by many desirable features can be efficiently used in numerous cases and applications, especially in modern systems for hydroponic cultivation of vegetable crops, flowering plants, and woody plants.
